How do you find the right nature scenes fast? – Curated Nature Scenes

Search light and structure rather than place, use the tag pivot, and browse the sitemap when search is the wrong tool.

Search matches words in titles, descriptions and keyword sets and sorts newest first. No intent model, no personalisation, nothing promoted for payment.

Search structure, not place

For screen work, what usually matters is not where a photograph was taken but what shape it is and what the light is doing.

Terms that discriminate: low horizon, big sky, negative space, fog, haze, backlit, silhouette, aerial, layered ridges, leading line, symmetry, reflection. All recorded.

Terms that match nothing: epic, cinematic, moody, breathtaking. Not recorded anywhere, and in any case every buyer thinks their choice is all four.

The tag pivot

Find one frame that is close, open it, and use its tags to move sideways. The tags on an image you already like were written about that specific picture, which makes them a far better filter than a second guess at a phrase.

This is the fastest route to the right frame and almost nobody uses it.

Tags

Every keyword becomes a tag with its own page listing all of its images. Nothing is dropped for being rare, which is what makes narrow tags useful: one specific condition with a dozen frames beats the word nature with everything on it.

The tag index is paginated. A single page holding every keyword in a growing catalogue would be slow, unreadable, and would spread its own weight so thinly that none of its links benefited.

Collections

Images are grouped into collections by price as well as by tag. Browsing by collection is the right move when you are budgeting a project rather than designing one.

The HTML sitemap

Linked in the navigation. It lists every section, every journal article, every guide and every image, paginated. When search is not the tool you want, start there and browse.

Related images

Every image page carries a bounded set of related frames chosen by keyword overlap and topped up with recent additions. It is capped rather than open-ended, because a related block that grows with the catalogue turns a detail page into a directory.

Empty results

The catalogue is landscape and nature. A query outside it returns nothing, which is honest rather than broken. Nothing is padded with loosely related frames to make a page look busy.

If a phrase should match and does not, it is missing from the keyword sets. Send it; that is the cheapest improvement available to us.

Working from previews

Comp with the watermarked preview before buying anything. Previews are served at seven widths up to the full size of the original, so you can drop one into a real title layout at real dimensions and test the crop, the negative space and the type legibility.

Buy afterwards. The mark exists so that this step is free, and the only expensive mistake available at nine dollars is choosing the wrong plate twice.
