You cannot sell the file. You can sell anything you make with it. That line does not move.

Not permitted

• Uploading to another stock library, marketplace or free-image site.
• Bundling into a download pack, asset archive or resource collection.
• Shipping inside a template, theme, preset, LUT pack or motion-graphics kit.
• Print-on-demand where the photograph is the entire product.
• Datasets and model training.
• Passing the original file to a third party for their own separate work.

Permitted

• Title sequences, key art, posters and end boards.
• Broadcast and streaming, in any territory, for any run.
• Packaging, print, editorial and books.
• Websites, apps, campaigns and client deliverables.
• Merchandise carrying your design.
• Publications you sell, where the reader is buying the publication.

Post houses and vendors, specifically

The case that comes up constantly on screen work.

If you are a post house or a design vendor, buy the licence yourself for the job you are doing. The deliverable you hand to the production is covered by your licence.

What you may not do is retain the original in a shared asset library and reuse it on the next client's job. That is a second use and needs a second licence. Nine dollars is not a meaningful line on a production budget, and the alternative is an unresolvable argument about who was licensed for what two years after everyone involved has moved on.

Equally, do not hand the original file to the production as part of an asset delivery. Hand over the composite and the layered project; if the production needs the source, they buy it.

Template and preset sellers

Use the images in your demos, screenshots and marketing. Do not ship the files. The buyer sees the layout with a picture and receives a placeholder. Standard practice, and fine here.

Print-on-demand

Listing the photograph as a print or canvas, where the picture is the product, is reselling the file. The same photograph as one layer in a composition of yours is your work and you may sell it. The test is what your customer thinks they are paying for.

Volume

Any number of files for a project is fine. Systematic acquisition of a large share of the catalogue for republication is redistribution under another name; write first and we will answer plainly.

Publications and paid content

Selling a book, magazine, paid report or course containing the image is permitted, because the reader is buying the publication rather than the picture.

Offering the image itself as a separate download to your subscribers is not, because at that point the file has become the product again. The same distinction applies to a members' area: showing the image is fine, providing it as an asset is not.
